- The Red Bull Stratos science team has spent five years developing the capsule that will deliver Felix Baumgartner to the edge of space for his record-breaking freefall attempt from over 22 miles up. The craft will protect Baumgartner from stratospheric temperatures and offer a stable oxygenated and pressurized environment during the ascent. The vessel will also act as a stable base for his step-off into freefall.
