Popskarr is an Electronic - Nu Disco / Synthpop band from Cape town, South Africa. Started in early 2009 by Belgian-born vocalist, Yannick Ilunga AKA IAMWAVES and Durbanite producer, Terrence Pearce AKA Dj Lapse - PopSkarr have been at the forefront of the electronic music scene since they began!
Yannick's sublime, simple song writing ability fraught with emotion and his live bass riffs lend perfectly to Terrence's ethereal Synth lines and dreamy drum production.
Having taken major inspiration from the likes of New Order, Depeche Mode and Bloc Party to name a few, In their short time being together, they have made a major impact on the electronic arena including high profile shows at the prestigious Design Indaba Launch party in 2010 and countless outdoor festivals.
