There is no holding back Freestyle Moto X legend Nick De Wit. This 29-year-old pioneer of South African FMX has maintained his number one status for most of his career and has never lost a competition on home soil.
Nick defied all logic when he soared to stardom after just a few short years in the sport. Almost overnight, “Sick Nick” De Wit became a local hero, consistently back flipping at comps and shows across the country. His sudden rise to fame saw all his wildest dreams come true as he left his competition behind and rose to international status.
He became the first African to compete in Red Bull X fighters, and has achieved 5th in the World Rankings and 4th in two separate World Cup events. He has mastered his fears, pulling off mind-blowing tricks, and even securing a 4th place in X Games Best Trick in Dubai.
The skies are the limit for De Wit, who only wants to climb higher. He has many more tricks to pull out the bag and an infinite list of jump sites to visit. “My strategy for the future is to spend more time on my bike and to focus on refining my skills and tricks so I can compete and ride at my best. Riding and jumping my motorbike is really important to me, and I would not be able to live life without it.”
