David Chislett is an author, speaker, emcee and all round creative force. His particular area of expertise is undoubtedly the murky waters of the music industry in South Africa, having being involved in all facets of the business for over two decades now.
His recently published book, "One, Two, One, Two" is an all-encompassing, anecdotal guerrilla-guide to the South African music industry covering everything from the basics of what it takes to be in a band right up to the nitty-gritty details of intellectual property rights and industry organisations.
The Red Bull Studio in Cape Town is proud to host a workshop on Thursday the 2nd of June, where David will be covering certain topics from his book such as copyright, SAMRO, record deals and management. He will not only be explaining what these are, but also how to deal with them, the common pitfalls that people experience in the industry and tips on maximizing one's music career. With such wide-spread knowledge and first-hand experience when it comes to the local music scene, it is a privilege to have David share his invaluable wisdom.
