Red Bull are presenting a junior coaching and training workshop for the cream of South Africaâs junior surfers. The project will have many facets to it, and the goal is to fast-track our top junior surfers onto their next level of competitive surfing.
Who?
Eighteen of the best junior surfers in the country, between the ages of 14 and 17, including Sarah Baum and Bianca Buitendag, two outstanding girl surfers.

What?
A junior workshop, where surfers are trained in various aspects of heat strategy, psychological training, fitness and nutrition, as well as dealing with the media. There will be talks on surf forecasting by Spike, and media specialist Les Aupiais will be present.
When?
The event will take place from Sunday 5th July until the morning of Wednesday 8th July.
Where?
The junior workshop is going to be located on the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal, where a number of beachbreaks and pointbreaks have been identified as possible locations for the practical aspects of the training. The South Coast has a great variety of waves, as well as warm water, making it the ideal location for such a venture.
