It was a good weekend all round for Red Bull and their culture team as Red Bull events & opinion leaders were honoured at the MTN Hype Awards in Johannesburg over this weekend 12 - 14 September 2008.
A weekend of Hip Hop was what it was all about at the Dome in Johannesburg.
B-boys were battling in the 2 on 2 contests, there was a Hip Hop expo, DJ's on the decks throughout and finally the awards ceremony on Sunday.
This awards ceremony is the first (of hopefully many) of it's kind in South Africa, recognising new talent and rewarding established artists for their contribution to Hip Hop, music and the culture in general.
With Red Bull's involvement in this genre it was decided that Hip Hop event of the year should go to Red Bull BC One.
A super successful event!
