After a 3 year hiatus, the 4th South African Red Bull Box Cart Race hit the streets of Soweto!

In September, Soweto will be preparing to see chop shop rides, eKasi style with over 50 teams competing in a race with a difference.

Your team of 4 will need a skilful driver (no engines are allowed in the carts), operational steering wheel, functional brakes and a hooter which will encourage the crowds to lend their support through cheers and screams as the teams hurtle down to the finish line.

So the question is: Does your team have what it takes?

In 2006 the previous Red Bull Box Cart Race took place on Jan Smuts Avenue which proved to be an absolute success through the determination of the 60 teams who ‘wowed’ the judges and the 50 000 spectators alike.

2010 is the year for creating the ultimate ride from any and all materials you can find. So start spreading the word and motivating your boys/girls to register and stand the chance to race their chop shop carts down a Soweto strip.

Keep your eyes pealed for the call for entry TV spots.

The event website will be going live on the 5 May so check it out for further information and entry details: www.redbullboxcartrace.co.za or call our hotline number on: 0800 700 600
