Once again, there’s more than rock happening at RTD thanks to the Red Bull Studio, curator of the live electronic stage at this year’s festival. For those looking to take the party early into the morning, there will be tons of electronica-love to go around with one of the founding innovaors of techno and a living legend in the dance music scene, Kevin Saunderson standing tall on Saturday night. He will be joined by Dim Mak (the label owned by Steve Aoki) giant Mustard Pimp dropping some French electro-flair on the fields of Darling on Friday.
The booming lineup will also see the likes of El Gordo and Anthea Scholtz coming home after stints overseas, while big-name peak-hour rinsers such as Haezer and PHfat, and Kwaito upstarts the Ruffest will show off a wide range of skills on the decks and microphones throughout the day and night. The weekend will be capped off with a much anticipated set from local electronica legend Felix Laband who will be complimented by his brother in bleeps, Markus Wormstorm’s newly inspired forrays into sonic sculpture and Fletcher ‘s dub-wise expertise on Sunday.
