Some of SA's top wakeboarders and wakeskaters will be taking part in the event, showcasing their tricks to the crowd. This week we feature Lloyd Stocks and Richard McKibbin
Lloyd is a legend on the South African wakeboarding scene, highly involved with both magazines and events – both organising and competing in contests across the country.
As a former national champion and team captain, he features regularly in local magazines, also writing a monthly piece for Leisure Boating magazine.
His most recent achievement saw his take home a bronze medal at the 2005 IWSF World Championships in the Masters section, and future goals include increasing his profile in the sporting scene and pursuing new business ventures in this area.
Richard, known as Richi to the wakeboarding community, hails from Durban, South Africa, and when not on the lakes, works as a Branch Manager.
Sporting achievements to date include getting his national colours in 1998 and 2000, and placing 16th at the IWSF Wakeboarding Championships in France in 2000. Richard doesn’t only compete in wakeboarding but surfs and snowboards in his free time, placing 2nd at the SA Snowboarding Champs in 2000.
Upcoming projects include a community development initiative, teaching rural children how to surf
