In recognition of Freedom Day and the history behind it, Red Bull Freedom Jump was created to depict freedom through an image.

South African FMX rider Nick De Wit will jumped from the Victoria Train Station near the Nelson Mandela Bridge in an attempt to capture THE perfect photograph that incorporates the Johannesburg City skyline, Nelson Mandela bridge and Newtown.

The 5am on-site call did nothing to deter Nick from being there! It was a cold morning and the crew was ready to go. It was all about capturing the shot!

Cranes were brought in to assist with placing the kicker and equipment as well as to get those awesome aerial shots.

Once the sun began to appear the shoot started. Nick had a few practice runs and then he went flat out.

There were spectators gathered on the bridge itself and passers-by cheered as Nick did jump after jump. Emergency services were ready and waiting as Nick scrapped passed the low ceiling of the Victoria Train Station.

It didnt take long before we heard those glorious words: "WE GOT THE SHOT!". A great day in all and Nick was a legend!

All in all a very successful event!
