Red Bull Illume searches the world for the best action and adventure sports photography and honours the men and women behind the lense. After the success of the inaugural event in 2007, the 2010 Image Quest is now well under way.
4,337 photographers from 112 countries have already registered to take part and they have submitted a total of 22,764 images.
The judges now have the difficult task of finding the 50 best images from 10 different categories: culture, playground, energy, spirit, close up, wings, SanDisk sequence, new creativity, experimental and illumination.
The overall winner will receive a Leica S2 camera and equipment worth €30,000, while every photographer getting an entry selected for the final 50 will pick up a SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB Flash Memory card.
