There have been a slew of remixes of The Frown's "Metallic Kiss" over the past few weeks, most of which are really good (we particularly like the Card On Spokes version). We're very happy, however, to be releasing the Petite Noir version on our Red Bull Studio Soundcloud, for a couple of reasons. Mainly because we're super amped to have brought the artistic meteors that are Eve Rakow and her motley crew of merry music makers that make up the Frown, and the one-man creative powerhouse, Yannick Illunga, whose Petite Noir project has been receiving much acclaim as of late, together.
We're also stoked because, well, frankly the original "Metallic Kiss" is one of our favourite Electronica tracks of the year so far, and Yannick's remix takes it down a dark, wooded path into a mutant version of Witch-House, a self-proclaimed genre he calls 'Noir Wave', and it makes for some pretty fresh and exciting music.
So listen and download as you please, and keep posted to the Red Bull Studio's online pages for more from the Frown and Petite Noir, two acts we expect great things from this year.
