From Russia with style

The two Russian cities of Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk witnessed two of the most spectacular shows ever to hit their respective streets. At Red Bull Revolution on Machines, the best freestyle snowmobile riders had peoples’ jaws dropping and the crowd shouting and cheering like never before.

A total of 25,000 people came to see Heath Frisby, 2009 X Games bronze medallist, Joe Parsons, Daniel Bodin and Isaac Sherbine break the stereotypes of everyday snowmobile usage. The track was made of two kickers and two landings, between a pair of which was water – yes, these heroes were doing backflips over a river. Crazy tricks, a great show and a happy crowd – and two hours of serious action that will keep the city abuzz for months.

This event will become history for the city and the sport – 70,000 people left their warm homes to spend three hours on the main square (named after Vladimir Lenin, the man who revolutionized modern Russian history). The track had two parallel kickers and one huge landing surrounded by fans hungry for a show. The crowd refused to leave the square before they saw a parallel backflip jump. The amazing show won’t be forgotten for some time. ‘That was the biggest and best show I’ve ever taken part in!’ Heath Frisby said, right after the event.
